Jeni & Brett booked their wedding with me for September in Kaneohe, Hawaii. They came to me by way of referral and I am excited to have the opportunity to photograph their wedding! A little known fact about me (unless you're my Facebook friend and read my 25 random things) is that I say a little prayer for my couple before each photo session. I started this in Hawaii when I saw my dear friend and Mentor ArnaJohnson doing this. In Hawaii it is called a "Pule" (pu-lay). I do this every time before photo shoots and weddings. I just go through my thankfuls and positive thoughts on my way to photograph. This day, I thought out loud "it would be cool to see a heart shape somewhere" well ask and receive BIG TIME:

I had MAJOR chills when I was taking this shot - I think my eyes even watered I was so excited! See the two big hearts? It was so fitting for Jeni & Brett, you could really see how much they love each other.
We were shooting at one of my favorite places, Ponto Beach. Walking up a long, concrete stairway through the sand bluffs you get a fabulous view and a very cool piece of art that is an inlaid compass. The compass has metal medallions displaying facts about the gray whales, the sand bluffs and the pacific ocean. This also makes for some very creative shots:
I'm so glad my couple didn't turn around to see me on the ground, on my stomach and trying to get that Pacific Ocean medallion in the shot!
I stood up and saw another heart!
sigh... I love what I do
We took full advantage of all the cool places at Ponto beach and had a great time!
Next time we meet will be for a beautiful wedding, Hawaiian Style. Aloha!
Hearts, hearts, follow my friend Deb!!!
We love hearts and we love Deb!!!
